Oddington Grange/Otteley Abbey

A Cistercian monastery was founded at Oddington Grange c.1137, by Robert Geyt/le Gei; however, just over a year later, the monks were relocated to Thame (they claimed that the area was too wet for their liking!). Despite the monks moving out, their order retained the land until the Dissolution of the Monasteries (1536 - 1541).

Oddington Grange is also thought to have been the site of Otley/Otteley Abbey, although nothing remains of it today.
