Chacombe Priory

Situated roughly 17 miles from Bicester is Chacombe Priory; this 16th century manor house was built on the site of a former Augustinian Priory, hence its name.

The Priory itself was founded during the reign of King Henry II (1154 - 1189), by the then lord of the manor, Hugh de Chacombe. The only remnants that still survive are a small 13th century chapel, and a set of medieval fishponds.

The current property is now a Grade II listed building.
