Between 1673 - 1675, the following Bicester people died as a result of smallbox:

4. Anne, daughter of Nicholas Moulton.
5. William, son of John Adams.
6. Mary, daughter of John Warry.
7. Anthony Horne.
8. A son of John Rogers.
9. Henry, son of Henry Steedman.
10. William, son of Thomas Broom.
11. Sarah, wife of William Heverton.
12. Margaret, daughter of John Shepheard.
13. Elizabeth Everett.
14. Giles Edwards.
15. Elizabeth, wife of Robert Pierson.
16. Anne, daughter of John Deely senior.
17. Thomas, son of Edward Horwood.
18. John, son of Edward Horwood.
19. Henry, son of William Ball.
20. Elizabeth, daughter of William Ball.
21. William Ball.
22. Elizabeth, wife of William Ball.
23. William Horwood.
24. Thomas, son of William Swift.
25. Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas Pavier.
26. Matthew Deely.
27. John, son of Humphry Nicolls.

As you can see, many families experienced multiple deaths due to the disease (most notably the Balls).
Their deaths were all marked by an asterix beside their entries in the parish registers.
