Squirrel's Dray/The Old Blacksmith's Shop (Bletchingdon)

The Grade II listed Squirrels Drey/The Old Blacksmith's Shop in Bletchingdon was constructed circa the mid-18th century, and was originally used as a forge by the local blacksmith. It has since been used as a shop.

The name 'Squirrels Drey' is a relatively unusual one, and I cannot find any information regarding why this property was named as such; however, a 'drey' is - quite literally - the proper term for a squirrel's nest!
